This policy explains how Seerati handles data when you use the platform, resume creation, export and ATS review services.
Data we collect
We collect account details such as name, email and preferred language; resume content including experience, education, skills and links; and usage data needed to operate and secure the service. We may also collect limited technical data such as browser type, IP address and error logs.
Why we collect data
We use data to create accounts, save and sync resumes, provide preview, export and ATS review, deliver support, prevent abuse and improve reliability. Resume content is not used for targeted advertising.
Resume storage
Resumes, versions and scan results are stored in a database linked to your account. Row-level access controls prevent one user from reading another user's data, with limited administrative access for support and security when necessary.
Uploaded and exported files
Files uploaded for import or generated for export may be stored in private storage linked to your account. They are used to extract content or enable download and are not public by default. Delete files you no longer need when deletion controls are available.
Use of artificial intelligence
The current ATS review uses explainable rules. If we introduce a feature using an external AI provider, we will disclose what data is sent and why before use, and will not send resume content to an external provider without a clear basis and appropriate notice.
Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share the minimum necessary data with hosting, database, payment, error monitoring and support providers, or when required by law. Providers must protect data and use it only for the agreed service.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies for sessions, authentication and locale, plus local storage for resume drafts and interface preferences. Disabling required storage may break sign-in or remove some local preferences.
Data protection
We use encrypted connections, permission controls, access policies, file validation and logs for sensitive events. No electronic system is risk-free, so we review controls and address known vulnerabilities continuously.
Retention
We retain account and resume data while the account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Limited backups may remain for an additional secure period before deletion or rotation under backup schedules.
Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of the account, resumes and linked files through account settings or by contacting us. Limited data may be retained where legally required or necessary for fraud prevention and transaction settlement, with restricted use.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, download, delete or restrict certain processing and to object. We will verify identity before completing a request and respond within applicable legal timeframes.
